About Us
Darcy’s Drilling Services Ltd. was founded in 2007 by Darcy Schmidt, who has been involved in well drilling and pump repair since a young age. He began his career by assisting with drilling water wells and repairing pump systems, eventually securing a full-time position with Schmidt Drilling Ltd. in 1978. A few years later, he became one of the first graduates of the journeyman water well apprenticeship program. After years of success, Darcy served as the President of Schmidt Drilling Ltd. until the company was sold in 2005.
Continuing the family-owned and operated tradition, Darcy Schmidt established Darcy’s Drilling Services Ltd., with the added leadership and experience of family members Michael Schmidt, Tasha Schmidt, and Cara Riske. Our full-service water well company continues to grow and thrive.
In 2011, Darcy’s Drilling Services Ltd. expanded into the Drayton Valley area by purchasing significant water well equipment from Morrill’s Water Well Drilling. This acquisition enabled us to provide high-quality wells and exceptional service in the Drayton Valley area. Additionally, we welcomed long-time Morrill employee Jonathan Gilbert to our team.
We are a full-service company, and your water needs are our top priority. We do not use subcontractors or call centers! You will work directly with us from start to finish on your new well. We drill the wells, install the pump and pressure system, and in the future, we will be here to service what we have sold.

Our clients say it best

Cheri,
HI Darcy,
I am dropping you a line because I am so impressed with Ryan and Cara. They are very professional and are excellent representatives of your company. They were friendly, smiling and very patient when explaining anything for me. They were easy to have around….not all people who come into a persons home are. I was completely at ease with them coming and going. No door slamming, loud talking, loud music. Always smiling.
Ryan’s directions were clear and easy to follow. He waited patiently while I made quick notes. He left his number for us to call with any questions.
People are quick to complain about things. I wanted to be quick to compliment their hard work and pleasant manner, as well as the positive difference in no water already! Mild chlorine smell and the turbidity I was told to expect. Pm looking forward to living without that horrible sulphur smell.
Thank you for servicing our well. we will recommend your company highly to others without hesitation.
Have a great day,
Thanks
